Creative Nonfiction

Since I could hold a crayon, I've loved to write. Outside of work, I write personal essays — on family, the body, ritual, and the idiosyncratic ways we make meaning out of ordinary things. A couple of published pieces:

  • Her Legacy (Hippocampus Magazine) — on my mother's jewelry collection, inheritance, and the question of what I'd pass on.

  • Religious Experience (The Rumpus) — on coffee, Catholicism, and the daily rituals that carry us through loss.

She occasionally references a day when someone else would wear her jewelry... But these are just accessories, she insists. “My children are my legacy.”
